BIOGRAPHY

Welcome

I was born in Arcata, California and had moved around the entire northern California region until I was about seven years old when my family relocated to San Diego. From that point on I had always known San Diego as my home and where I am from. I am blessed to have two loving parents who have given me opportunities that most people can only dream of. I am also the oldest of of six siblings. My entire life I have always been invested in family, academics as well as athletics. Since I was around the age of five I have been embedded within organized sports. Sports always seemed to give me a sense of identity. This mainly being I learned that in life making sacrifices for others is far more rewarding than doing something for personal gain. I have tried to live my life by this principle in everything that I do.

With all of this in mind sports is only a part of my life. I learned at young age that one day I would no longer be able to play the sports I love at a competitve level. While being ignorant in my younger years, I had always told myself that I was going to be a professional athlete. However, after finishing up my collegiate career playing football for the University of San Diego, I came to the realization that the NFL was not calling my name. At first I was truly heartbroken and felt that I no longer had a sense of identity. I tried to work in several different work fields; however, nothing seemed to spark my interest like sports had always done. I was truly hungry to become  a part of a true team environment like I once had while playing sports. About two years after I was done playing I recieved an opportunity of a lifetime to become a graduate assistant for Hastings College in Nebraska. I took a leap of faith out of my comfort zone leaving loved ones behind and it ended up being the jumpstart to my carreer in coaching.

I have always wanted a career where I felt that I would never work a day in my life. I truly believe that I have found that in coaching. My passion for the sport that has given me so much continues to grow vastly as I now start my new journey as a South Carolina Gamecock. I am more excited than ever for the journey I have in store.
